Make sure any boat you buy has both of these mandatory documents.
This Hourston Glasscraft is light, perfect hull, and is amazing in all sea conditions. It is faster than most other boats on the water, so you can keep ahead of larger boats.
9.9 Honda 4 stroke kicker, 2013, very quiet, goes all day on $5 gas. Bought new for $3000.
115 Ocean Pro Evinrude V4, used to get to the fishing zone fast, 40 mph. Overhauled by Peter at Sooke Marine with all new replaceable parts like spark plug wires, electronic ignition, new prop, leg-oil, thermostat, etc. It starts up fast, and works like a clock. You can tell this is a great motor by how it sounds. Purchaed for $4500.
New Galvanized trailer, 2 years old, heavy duty construction, and specially made for this boat. Purchased new from Andy at Silverstreak Boats in Sooke for $3400.
New Pod added after inboard removed, and then reinforced by Silverstreak. $2500 .
GPS Lawrence Chart plotter, black box, Marine Compass, Fire Extinguisher, flares, life jackets, floater jacket, fenders, anchor + rope, new fishing net with 8 foot handle, expandable to 12 feet, crab trap puller, crab traps, Sunroof - removable, so you can see easily out while fishing and going fast to avoid logs and seaweed.
High sides make it hard to fall overboard, low cabin makes it good in the wind.
It is set up for fishing, and catches a lot of fish. I always get my limit. Easy to trailer, and easy for 1 person to launch.
More than $20,000 went into this boat in the past 2 years. Boat, motors, pod, trailer, etc... - A super buy for only $12,000.
The 23 Degree Deadrise Deep V hull is deepest in Industry. Cuts through waves better than Trophy or Bayliner boats. The Hourston's hull is SOLID.. 5/8 inch hull with its 89 inch-wide beam and deep sides, the most popular boat in the local fishing charter fleet is the Hourston. The Canadian Coast Guard and Hydrographic Service still have many Hourstons in use today.
